Summary
Braun Corporation (Braun) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Honda
Odyssey vehicles modified to be equipped with an in-floor wheelchair ramp conversion. The rear wheel speed sensor harnesses may have been routed to the incorrect rear wheels, resulting in the possibility that the anti-lock brake system will not recognize each rear wheel speed properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 135, “Light Vehicle Brake System” and 404, “Electronic Stability Control Systems.”
Remedy
Braun has notified owners, and dealers will inspect and correct the rear wheel speed sensor harnesses, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began on April 4, 2019. Owners may contact Braun customer service at 1-800-488-0359.

This service bulletin details inspection of Honda rear wheel sensor harnesses and remedy, if required
Read instructions before beginning.
No parts are required.
The purpose of this instruction is to verify rear driver side wheel speed sensor harness is correctly routed. If driver side routing is correct, passenger side will be correct as well, and inspection is complete. Conversely, if the rear driver side wheel speed sensor harness routing is incorrect, the rear passenger side will be incorrect as well, and both will need interchanged.
1. Locate driver side wheel sensor harness connector. See Photos A through C.
2. Peel back the wire loom to show wire colors.
If wire colors match Photo D no further action is required.
If the wires match Photo E the wheel sensor harnesses must be rerouted (switched).
3. Disconnect vehicle battery.
4. Remove both rear wheels.
5. Disconnect both wheel sensor connectors. See Photos F through J.
6. Remove wire ties securing wheel sensor harnesses to vehicle. See Photos K and L.
7. Correctly route and reconnect harnesses. See Photos M and N.
8. Secure harnesses to underside of vehicle. Refer to Photo L.
9. Install rear wheels. Torque lug nuts to 90 ft•lbs.
10. Connect vehicle battery.
11. Test drive vehicle noting any indicator lights.

Dear Valued BraunAbility Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
BraunAbility has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model year 2018-2019 Honda Odyssey Power Infloor conversions manufactured from September 13th, 2018 – March 12th, 2019. The rear wheel speed sensor harnesses may be routed to the incorrect rear wheels, resulting in the possibility that the anti-lock braking system will not recognize rear wheel speed properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 135, “Light Vehicle Brake System” and 404, “Electronic Stability Control Systems.”
Concern: The rear wheel speed sensor harness may be connected to the wrong rear wheel speed sensor and could cause a sudden deceleration of the vehicle during sharp turns. If the anti-lock braking system incorrectly recognizes rear wheel speed, the anti-lock system may apply incorrect corresponding braking inputs to the rear wheels and reduce vehicle braking, increasing the risk of crash.
Remedy: Schedule an appointment with your local BraunAbility dealer to have the rear wheel speed sensor harnesses inspected and if necessary, rerouted, at no cost to you. The repair should take approximately one hour. You may call and schedule an appointment with a BraunAbility dealer, without charge.
If you had this remedy performed on your BraunAbility vehicle prior to receiving this letter, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for the cost of the remedy. To see if you qualify, contact the BraunAbility Customer Experience Group by calling 833-863-3539 or emailing [email protected].
If a BraunAbility dealer is unable to perform the recall remedy within a reasonable timeframe, please contact the BraunAbility Customer Experience Group at 833-863-3539 or [email protected] for further instructions.

BraunAbility is taking the necessary steps to initiate a voluntary recall on the 2018 and 2019 Honda in-floor wheelchair accessible vehicles. Until the necessary steps are taken to file the recall notice with NHTSA, we are proactively communicating this information to you. This notification is to inform you to take the necessary steps to stop the sale of the Honda’s you may have in inventory.
Concern: The rear wheel speed sensor harness may be connected to the wrong rear wheel speed sensor and cause a sudden deceleration of the vehicle during sharp turns.
Correction: Inspection and correction instructions will be communicated to you by Wednesday March 20th, 2019.
In the coming days and weeks, further communication about this voluntary recall will be communicated to you as part of the NHTSA reporting process.
