General Information

Planning on using a leak check dye to help find a leak?  Here’s the current list of vehicles that you shouldn’t use dye on.

Year/Model Transmission Type
2014–15 Accord Hybrid E-CVT
2014 Accord Plug-In E-CVT
1999–05 Civic CNG CVT
2003–05 Civic Hybrid
1996–05 Civic HX
2001–05 Insight

At this time, we have not approved the use of leak check dye in these transmissions.  If traces of dye are found in a failed transmission returned under warranty, your claim will be debited. For more information on which vehicles can used leak dye, see S/B 07-085, ATF Leak Detection.
