BACKGROUND
Honda is launching a SAFETY RECALL on CERTAIN 2022 NVA110B motorcycles to replace
the speedometer cable. An improperly routed speedometer cable may result in a speedometer
malfunction which can affect the rider’s judgment to ride safely, increasing the risk of a crash or
injury.
AFFECTED UNITS
As of March 16, 2023, YOU MUST NOT SELL CERTAIN NEW or USED 2022 NVA110B motorcycles
until they are repaired according to this Service Bulletin.

• To manage your affected new inventory, use your dealer eResponsibility Report on iN.
CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION
American Honda intends to mail customer letters to all owners of affected 2022 NVA110B motorcycles
in May 2023. Customers will be informed that their motorcycle may be affected by a safety
related defect and will be advised to make an appointment with an authorized Honda dealer for
repair.
PARTS INFORMATION
Parts are available and can be ordered through the normal parts order process.

Before you begin the repair procedure, verify
that the unit has not already been repaired by
searching Unit Information on iN.
1. Remove the headlight assembly and disconnect
the headlight bulb.
1. Note: Be careful to pull the lower part of
the headlight outward slightly, then
release the tab that secures the meter
cover to the headlight assembly and pull
the assembly straight out.
2. Disconnect the speedometer cable by
unscrewing the knurled nut that attaches
the speedometer cable to the underside of
the meter.
3. Pull the speedometer cable through the
cable guides.
4. At the front wheel hub, release the tab
securing the other end of the speedometer
cable to the brake panel.
5. Remove the speedometer cable.

6. Install the new speedometer cable in
reverse order of removal. Follow the routing
instructions shown below.
7. Re-connect the headlight connector and
install the headlight assembly in reverse
order of removal.
8. Confirm the speedometer is operating correctly.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Honda has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2022 model year NAVI (NVA110B) motorcycles.
Why my vehicle is under recall: Due to improper routing of the speedometer cable, the cable may break or detach. This can result
in a motorcycle speed display failure, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
What Honda will do: Your Honda Powersports dealer will replace the speedometer cable with appropriate cable routing,
for FREE. Honda estimates that the repair will take approximately 25 minutes to complete. However, your dealer can provide you with a better estimate of the overall time for this service visit, as it may be necessary to make your vehicle available for a longer period of time. What we need you to do: ersports dealer and schedule an appointment to have

Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Registered owners of all affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and
asked to take their vehicle to an authorized Honda Powersports dealer. The dealer will replace the speedometer cable with appropriate cable routing.
Owners who have paid to have these repairs completed at their own expense will be eligible for reimbursement, in accord with the recall reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA.
How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :

While the replacement speedometer cable remains the same, the cable will be correctly routed.
