In a Pinch, OK to Use ATF Type 3.0 in a 9-Speed Automatic Transmission

EDITOR’S NOTE: This article revises the Version 1 article posted earlier in July 2015. Changes are highlighted in yellow.
Although our service repair info specifically states that you must use only ATF Type 3.1 in a 9-speed automatic transmission, this ATF isn’t yet available. If you’re in a pinch, just use ATF Type 3.0 (P/N 08200-9016A) for now.
Of course, once Type 3.1 is available, you’ll need to change the ATF back to Type 3.1 to ensure the best protection and performance.
