REPAIR PROCEDURE

  1. Remove the front brake pads and shims:
    • Refer to page 19-14 of the 2005–06 Odyssey Service Manual, or
    • Online, enter keyword PAD, and select Front Brake Pad Inspection and Replacement from the list.
  2. Measure the brake disc thickness:
    • Refer to page 19-17 of the service manual, or
    • Online, enter keyword DISC, and select Front Brake Disc Inspection from the list.
    • Note the measurements on the back of the repair order hard copy.
    • If the disc is within service limits, go to step 3.
    • If disc is beyond the service limit, replace the disc, then go to step 5.
  3. Refinish both front brake discs with an on-car brake lathe. Use the approved Kwik-Way or Snap-on brake lathe. Do not refinish the front discs off the vehicle because disc runout cannot be adequately eliminated by this method.

NOTE: For information on brake disc refinishing, refer to the operating manual for the lathe and to Service Bulletin 00-088, Brake Disc Refinishing Guidelines.
