Honda

Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023 Rebel 300 (CMX300) motorcycles. The right engine crank house cover was incorrectly painted, allowing the press-fit plug to fall out.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the right crank case cover, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 25, 2023. Owners may contact Honda
customer service at 1-800-784-1870. Honda

has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2023 model year Rebel 300 (CMX300) motorcycles.
Why my vehicle is under recall: The engine crankcase cover plug may come out of its hole when the temperature rises. This can
result in oil leaking onto the exhaust pipe or tire.
Safety Consequence
Oil leaking onto the exhaust pipe or tire may increase the risk of a fire, crash, or injury.

After completing the repair procedure, your dealer will give you a Vehicle Emission Recall – Proof of Correction certificate. Please make sure the dealer provides you with a completed certificate. Keep the certificate for your records as proof that the recall was completed. Submit the certificate to the OMV only if the OMV requests it.

Description of Remedy Program : Registered owners of all affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and
asked to take their vehicle to an authorized Honda
Powersports dealer. The dealer will replace the right crankcase cover with a non-defective part, for free.
Owners who have paid to have these repairs completed at their own expense may be eligible for
reimbursement, in accord with the recall reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA.
How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production :
Recalled components were improperly produced and may have paint adhered to the inner surface of the press-fit plug hole of the crankcase cover.
