IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL
This notice applies to your vehicle:
May 2023
Dear ,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Honda has decided that certain
2020–2021 model year Honda Pilot and Ridgeline and 2020–2022 model year Honda Passport and Odyssey vehicles fail to
conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 111, “Rear Visibility..”
Why my vehicle is under recall: Due to improper manufacturing of the left and right side view mirrors, the mirror glass
can detach. Detached mirror glass may impair rear visibility, increasing the risk of a
crash or injury.
What Honda will do: Due to a limited supply of parts, at this time Honda is only repairing vehicles with
mirror(s) which have detached and/or fallen off. When more replacement parts
become available, Honda will send a follow-up letter so you can then bring your
vehicle in for repair.
When parts are available, your Honda dealer will replace the left and right mirror for
FREE. Honda estimates the repair will take approximately 20 minutes. However, your
dealer can provide you with a better estimate of the overall time for this service visit,
as it may be necessary to make your vehicle available for a longer period of time.
What we need you to do: If your vehicle’s mirror(s) have detached and/or fallen off, please contact your
Honda dealer to have your vehicle inspected and repaired for FREE if it was
not the result of a crash. Otherwise, we ask for your patience while we prepare
replacement parts. Once you receive a follow-up letter from Honda notifying you
that replacements parts are available, please call any authorized Honda dealer
and make an appointment to repair your vehicle.

Re: Stop Sale/Safety Recall: 2020-2022 Multi-Model Door Mirrors
On March 16, 2023, American Honda notified NHTSA of a stop sale and safety recall for certain model year 2020-2022 Odyssey, 2020-2022 Passport, 2020-2021 Pilot,
and 2020-2021 Ridgeline units due to door heater pad/mirror glass which may detach from the mirror assembly. A detached mirror may impair rear visibility, potentially
increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Refer to your eResponsibility report or perform an iN VIN status inquiry to determine which units in your inventory are
affected.
Failure to repair a vehicle as necessary prior to sale may subject your dealership to claims or lawsuits.
BACKGROUND
Due to improper manufacturing, the heater pad/mirror glass may not adhere properly to the back plate of the door mirror assembly and detach. A detached mirror may
impair rearward visibility which is noncompliant with FMVSS 111.
REPAIR
Repair procedures are currently unavailable at launch. We will notify you when repair procedures become available.
PARTS
Parts are currently unavailable at launch. We will notify you when parts become available.
TOOLS
There are no special tools needed for this recall.

Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Registered owners of all affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and
asked to take their vehicle to an authorized Honda dealer. The dealer will replace both left and right mirror sets (holder assemblies) with an improved part.
Owners who have paid to have these repairs completed at their own expense will be eligible for
reimbursement, in accord with the recall reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA.
How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production :
Recalled components contain defective mirror/back plate adhesive. The adhesive tape and heater pad was changed for the mirror/back plate in July 2021 to address mirror vibration issues that had appeared in the market; subsequent market data indicates that the changes also addressed the risk of mirror detachment. Description of Recall Schedule : Dealer notification is scheduled to begin and end on or about
03/17/2023. Owner notification is scheduled to begin and end on or about 05/08/2023.
