Summary
Service Bulletin – American Honda is extending the warranty on the A/C condenser to 10 years from the original date of purchase with unlimited miles. This warranty extension only covers vehicles that have a defective A/C condenser from the factory. The A/C condenser was not manufactured to specification. As a result, corrosion may develop in the form of tiny holes in the condenser tube walls that allow the refrigerant to leak out. This does not apply to any vehicle that has a leaking condenser due to foreign object damage. It also does not apply to any vehicle that has ever been declared a total loss or sold for salvage by a financial institution or insurer, or has a branded or similar title under any state’s law.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: Make sure you review the precautions when working with the A/C system.
1. Follow the equipment manufacturer’s instructions, and connect the A/C recover/recycle/recharge machine to the high- pressure service port and the low-pressure service port.
2. Evacuate the A/C system. Measure the amount of refrigerant oil removed from the A/C system after the recovery process is completed.
NOTE:
• Make sure to put the same amount of new refrigerant oil back into the A/C system before charging.
• When using the Robinair R-1234yf A/C Recover, Recycle, Recharge Machine, a system vacuum is automatically done when it recharges the system. Use the automatic vacuum check for this bulletin.
• For additional information on how to check if the condenser is leaking, go to service bulletin 07-030 A/C Leak Detection.
3. Remove the insulation plate and air intake duct.
4. Remove the front grille cover.
5. Remove the clips and hardware securing the front bumper and front undercover.
6. 2020-21 models only. Unclip the acoustic vehicle alerting speaker duct.

7. Pull the front bumper out by both wheel wells to release it from the hooks on the side spacers.
8. Remove the front bumper from the hooks on the upper beam.
9. With the help of an assistant, remove the front bumper and undercover as an assembly. Disconnect the connectors.

10. Remove the lower grille duct.
11. 2018-19 models only. Remove the acoustic vehicle alerting speaker.
12. Remove the radiator brackets.
13. Drain the ES and DT coolant. Refer to Coolant Replacement and Check (Electric Powertrain Cooling System) in the service information.
14. Remove the radiator. Refer to Radiator Removal and Installation (Electric Powertrain Cooling System) in the service information.
15. Use the ultrasonic leak detector with the system under vacuum to identify where the leak is. For details on how to use it, watch the Tech2Tech video, “Check for A/C Leaks with the Ultra Sonic Leak Detector.”
16. Check for leaks in the central condenser area.
17. Check the joints between the horizontal tubes and the vertical pipes.
18. Check the inlet and outlet joints and the receiver/dryer cap for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks from the O-rings or the receiver/dryer cap are not covered by this bulletin.
• If the condenser is leaking, go to the next step.
• If the condenser is not leaking, this bulletin does not apply. Continue with normal troubleshooting.
19. Make sure the leak is not caused by a foreign object.
There are several types of damage that can result in a leak. This bulletin is for leaks that are caused by the manufacturing process. Damage like those caused by foreign objects that break the tube face are not covered under this warranty extension. A foreign object may damage the fins, but as long as the tube face is not impacted, the leak is covered under this warranty extension.
• Tube face damaged by foreign object – This bulletin does not apply, continue with normal system troubleshooting.
• Foreign object damage but tube face is not damaged, or the tube face is corroded – Go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
• No damage or corrosion found but the condenser is leaking – Go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

- 3 Cans of R1234YF Geniune Honeywell Refrigerant Freon Cans
- Free Guage
- Perfect for recharging AC in the summer
- Fit type: Universal
- Part number: R134YFTOK
- PERFORMANCE BOOSTER CHARGE KIT - ZeroR is a performance booster for use with R1234YF AC systems. You can use as many cans in your system as you wish, while being sure not to overfill the system with the included can tap with gauge.
- KIT CONTENTS - The can tap is 24 in length with a gauge metered for R1234YF systems. Standard R1234YF can taps will not work on ZeroR branded R1234YF cans, because our cans have a unique thread. 3 cans of ZeroR Permafrost in 4oz cans.
- NOT A Full Refrigerant - This product is a support fluid performance booster. It is a combination of two ZeroR products in one. The first part removes moisture (moisture can cause damage and reduced performance in the system), and the second part reduces friction (friction can reduce refrigerant flow and cause compressor damage)
- 24 in Charging Hose with Can Tap & Gauge - New longer 24 inch connection hose accomodates those harder to reach low side ports that were previously difficult to reach with a shorter 12 inch hose.
- 10 MINUTE INSTALL - Easy instructions are included and will take as little as 10 minutes to complete.
- Authentic HFO-R1234YF - This product should only be used in R1234YF systems. Please check the service sticker on your system or vehicle to identify the system type. This kit also includes a ZeroR service label for easy identification of the servce date and working pressures.
- 8 oz Cans – Cans are 8 oz net weight. Gas is measured in weight when compressed. Please don’t shake the can and think that it doesn’t feel full. Rest assured that it is. Different gases have different weights when compressed.
- Reverse Threads - These R1234YF cans are different from the older, more traditional, cans of refrigerant such as R134a. They have left hand, or reverse threads. This means you will need to turn the can counter clockwise to insert into your charging hose can tap.
- This kit contains a 24in. R1234YF HD Brass Can Tap with Gauge & 2 cans of R1234YF. 1 can should fill the majority of empty systems.
- 24″ Heavy Duty Brass Can Tap & Gauge – New longer 24″ connection hose accommodates those harder to reach low side ports that were previously difficult to reach with a shorter 12″ hose. The can tap has reverse, “left-hand” threads, that matches the threads on the R1234YF can.
- Authentic R1234YF – This product is authentic HFO-1234yf and is purchased directly from an authorized supplier in the USA. This product should only be used in R1234YF systems. Please check the service sticker on your system to identify it's type.
- 8OZ CANS – Cans are 8oz net weight. Gas is measured in weight when compressed. Please don’t shake the can and think that it doesn’t feel full. It is, we promise. Different gases have different weights when compressed.
- Genuine R1234YF – This product is genuine and is purchased from a dealer in the USA. This product can only be used in R1234YF system. Please check the service sticker on your system to identify the system type. Installtion tools not included.
- 8oz Can – Cans are 8oz net weight and have reverse, or "left-hand" threads. Gas is measured in weight when compressed. Please don’t shake the can and think that it doesn’t feel full. Different gases have different weights when compressed. All cans are filled to the maximum pressure as allowed by the D.O.T.
